Three Valleys - Les Trois Vallees

The Three Valleys eventually outgrew its name when they developed a fourth valley encompassing Val Thorens and Les Menuires. Today the area can quite rightly lay claim to be one of the most extensive linked ski areas in the world. The vast domain includes Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Meribel, La Tania and Courchevel, rises to 3200 meters altitude and is criss-crossed by six hundred and fifteen kilometres of well groomed piste.

Seamless skiing is provided by the 'state of the art' lift system. There are over 200 lifts including two giant 150 person cable cars, 40 gondolas and 20 high speed four man chairs. Queues are rare even during the peak holiday times. From first time skier to powder thrashing expert, every morning will provide a new and exciting challenge. For the intermediate skiers the choice of skiing is fantastic with wide open blue and red pistes in every direction that are meticulously groomed and well signposted. For those more daring skiers there are a variety of black runs, an abundance of off-piste and a number of challenging couloirs.

Whether you prefer the rock strewn glacial terrain above Val Thorens, the sunny open bowls above Courchevel or the tree lined skiing down into La Tania, there is a perfect playground for every skier. Much to the envy of many other resorts, the mountain peaks rise to 3,300 meters and virtually guarantee superb snow conditions throughout the season. A staggering 1,230 snow cannons cover over 1000 acres of home runs and ensure good cover until late in the season .
